"A Lonely Life"

A writer walks alone, on the road of life.
Without a father, without a mother; without a sibling, without a wife.

He writes to satisfy his soul, & to entertain his readers.
He tries to impress the critics, by criticizing the leaders.
His work revolves around the glories of life,
With an occasional pinch of tragedy to add spice.

"Lets..."

Let’s not cry at coming second & not first.
Let’s not disapprove of academic failures, with our lips pursed.
Let’s not follow Boman Irani’s words in ‘3 Idiots’ that “life is a race, if you go fast, you’ll be like a broken ‘andaa’, in a cuckoo’s nest. “
For a change, let’s learn to mend the ‘andaa’ & provide it with a new nest.
Let’s stop trying to be the only best.
Let’s not fight for 0.25 marks anymore,
Let’s not forget that till infinity we can soar.
Let’s grow up!

"The Legend of No Man’s Land"

The trio had been walking on the deserted road,
For two days & three nights,
Sweating profusely under their heavy load.

For miles around, there was not a soul in sight.
All they had for company were barren hills, endless sands
And the constantly fading light.

To find the road to `No Man’s land’,
Such had been their quest,
And their goal, to find the gold hand.

But now, it all seemed like a dirty jest,
And with all their hopes shattered,
They expected only failure, at best.

"The Teacher"

“A well-read mind is like an oyster, it has the ability to produce pearls of wisdom from grains of sand.”

They listened to her, rapt with attention.
Taking in the coat of fake fur, & the face lined with tension.
She was their new teacher,
This frail, mouse-like creature.

Though her appearance was neat & tidy, her wispy brow hair & dark old clothes,
Spoke of relentless poverty, & of shabby houses along dingy roads.
Such was the appearance of their new teacher,
This poverty-ridden, tidy creature.

an introduction to the blog

Around 5 months back, I made my first blog because I wanted a platform to share my work with people and also because I wanted a space where I could ramble in general!
I had a lot of fun with that blog, but I also came to realize that the blog's audience has become such that most of my writings go unnoticed. While I may be okay with my ramblings and random thoughts not getting attention, I would hate to see my creative writing not get a suitable platform at least, if not an attentive audience.
